COVID-19 Mitigation Plan

ABS is committed to fostering a safe environment for its members and bead community and has been implementing COVID-safe operations since the start of the pandemic. Throughout the bead season the ABS Board has continued to review protocols and recommendations, and make changes as required to ensure the health of our members, community, and bead families.
The ABS Board has updated its COVID-19 Mitigation Plan to conform to changing policies within our community and government. ABS has developed the following protocols regarding all in-person ABS-sanctioned events, whether the event includes member and/or non-members. This policy may be periodically updated, and changes will be communicated by way of the ABS monthly newsletter and/or on the ABS website. ABS protocols will follow all regulations and/or mandates issued by the Municipality of Anchorage, and the Mitigation Plan of the meeting space.

COVID PROTOCOLS
- As of May 1, 2022, mask wearing is optional while attending ABS events, meetings, and classes held indoors.
- Anyone experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, has tested positive for COVID-19, or has had close contact with someone infected with COVID-19 within the last 14 days, shall respectfully not attend any ABS meeting in person. A list of symptoms is published at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html.
- All ABS event attendees must provide their name and email onto a ‘sign-in sheet,’ upon arrival. In the event of COVID-19 exposure, ABS will notify each person on the ‘sign-in sheet’ via phone and/or email.
- ABS will designate at least one ABS member-host who will implement this Mitigation Plan. A printed version of this Policy will be at each ABS-sanctioned event.
- ABS will limit occupancy, according to the meeting space size, for in-person events, to ensure safe distancing.
- ABS will sanitize surface areas prior to an in-person meeting. Attendees are encouraged to use hand sanitizer upon entry.
- Anyone wishing to attend an in-person ABS-sanctioned meeting, class, or event is expected to comply with all ABS COVID-19 PROTOCOLS. Those who do not follow the ABS COVID-19 Mitigation Plan will be asked to leave by the designated ABS member-host.
